MacBook doesn’t tell iPhone it is going to update

Yesterday I went to Uni with my MacBook and during the lecture it told me it had an update but I didn’t tell it update and just turned the lid down. As I went home from Uni, my iPhone gives a notification saying that my MacBook was lost at the Uni, but I check my backpack and it’s there: updating. Apparently it decided to update as I was leaving Uni and didn’t mind telling iPhone about it, so iPhone just stopped receiving its “I’m here” pings and assumed it was left behind at Uni. Thanks Apple for the mini heart attack. ❤️
