Has anyone here been a "late bloomer"?
I always hear how people get their first job at 16, 17, 18 or even younger!! I am almost 23 and never had a formal job per se. My family owns a small business (convenience store) so I've always worked there up to when I was 20, when I moved away to college and I've been a full time student ever since.
While I know it's still work, it hasn't really added much value to my skill set. All it has helped me with is being more patient and treating others with kindness. But I don't know how to multitask, I don't perform well under pressure, I stress way too easily. I've never experienced the life of a "real employee" where they gotta go through multiple rounds of interviews and prove why they should be hired, have a set schedule everyday, not having the flexibility to run errands when needed(gotta acommodate your life around the job) and all that.
It's honestly so embarrassing to me and I wonder if that makes me "less hireable".
