Low Testosterone (2.96 ng/mL) – Has Anyone Improved It Without TRT While Trying to Conceive?

TRT help

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for experiences from people who have dealt with low testosterone while still wanting to preserve fertility.

My total testosterone is 2.96 ng/mL, which is quite low for my age. I've been experiencing symptoms such as lower libido, reduced energy, and generally not feeling like myself.

Before anyone suggests it: I already know the basics. I've been going to the gym regularly, improving my diet, sleeping more, maintaining a healthy weight, and trying to reduce stress. Unfortunately, none of these changes have made a significant difference in my testosterone levels.

The difficult part is that my wife and I are currently trying to have a child, so TRT is not really an option for me right now because of its potential impact on fertility.

I was also diagnosed with a Grade 3 varicocele and had surgery one month ago. My urologist told me that the varicocele may have affected both my sperm quality and testosterone production. I'm currently waiting a few more months before repeating my blood work and semen analysis.

Has anyone here been in a similar situation?

  • What was your testosterone level?
  • Did you find the underlying cause?
  • Were you able to improve it without TRT?
  • Did treatments such as hCG, Clomid/Enclomiphene, varicocele repair, or anything else help?
  • How long did it take before you noticed improvements?

I'd really appreciate hearing your experiences. Thanks in advance.
