Solely AMBOSS + CMS forms for shelf exams? Then completing UWorld + NBMEs before Step 2? Aiming for very high shelf and step 2 scores.
Hello all,
I'm interested in approaching shelf exams with a combination of the AMBOSS questions for that shelf along with all the relevant CMS forms. My aim is to save UWorld for closer to my dedicated period; I would complete it before Step 2 but not begin it until my final few rotations, at which point I would already have completed the majority of AMBOSS. I know that Uworld is said to better emulate the shelf/Step 2 question flavor, but I'm hoping that completing all the CMS forms would help to control for that. I would still plan to complete one full Uworld pass prior to Step 2.
I want to know whether this is a reasonable strategy. I hope to honor the vast majority of my shelf exams and hopefully clear a 270 on my Step 2. I really like AMBOSS but am feeling some FOMO about not doing Uworld early or being able to do 2 full passes of it, especially given the goals I hope to hit. Basically, am I shortchanging myself by not committing to Uworld early and often?
Has anybody who's scored very high taken this approach?
Thanks!
