I built an AI voice-driven budgeting app because Tokyo tripped up my financial tracking

A few months ago, I took a 6-day family trip to Japan, traveling through Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka. It was an amazing trip, but managing our expenses became an absolute nightmare. I was constantly dealing with two different currencies (JPY and my home currency), trying to track cash spending for train tickets, convenience store runs, and family dinners. None of the budgeting apps I used could seamlessly handle multiple currencies on the fly without making me do constant mental math or tedious manual switching.

Frustrated with the clunky friction, I decided to build my own solution when I got back. I created Penvo—a voice-driven AI bookkeeping app. Instead of manually typing and converting numbers, you just talk to it like a friend (e.g., "Spent 4500 yen on ramen in Ginza tonight"). The AI automatically extracts the amount, recognizes the currency based on the context, and categorizes it instantly. It also has an OCR scanner so I can just snap a picture of those long Japanese receipts and let the AI break it down.

New users can get a 1-month free trial to test everything out, and we also have a referral program with rewards if you invite friends. Plus, your financial data belongs completely to you—your privacy is respected, and you can export all your billing and transaction data anytime directly from our website at penvo.pro

I'd love to hear your honest feedback on the UI and AI accuracy. Check it out and let me know what you think!
