Help me out seniors….
Hi, I am considering Materials Engineering at NIT Calicut and wanted some honest insights from a senior.
-
How difficult is it to maintain an 8.5+ CGPA in Materials Engineering?
-
On average, how many hours per week do students spend on academics outside classes?
-
Is the branch considered relatively light, moderate, or heavy compared to Civil, Mechanical, and EEE?
-
Do Materials students get enough time for coding, competitive programming, and internships?
-
How many Materials students usually sit for software placements, and how many actually get selected?
-
Are there branch restrictions for major tech companies during placements?
-
How active are coding clubs, robotics clubs, and hackathons on campus?
-
If someone’s goal is CAT and a top IIM, would Materials be a good branch from a workload and CGPA perspective?
-
Looking back, would you choose Materials at NIT Calicut again, or would you prefer another branch/college option?
