Opinions on hot glue?

Hi guys. I hate sewing. I have a ton of appliques to add to my bag. I literally cannot fathom the thought of sewing them. I've seen people on tiktok use hot glue to apply appliques and sometimes for 3d embroidery. How is the hold? Will it melt the acrylic? Is this the easy way out? Am I weak willed? I don't know. But I would like to know anyone's experiences with hot gluing and crochet. I would like to add before I get any comments about it...NO I am not talking about hot gluing panels for a sweater or granny squares together. Just appliques and buttons and stuff.
