Civil money issue

So, my mom had sold her house because her boyfriend insisted too (I do not live there I live in my own apartment) saying that he’ll marry her and then he ask she her to give him 50,000 and she does stupidly so, and now he’s leaving her and taking 50G’s could I help her and start a civil lawsuit? This is happening in Location: Pennsylvania Pittsburgh if anyone knows the law
