Help me understand taxes in Fairfield County

Moving to CT in the next 12-14 months.
What are high performing school districts with a variety of programs (academic and extracurricular)?

Millage rate are mind boggling with affordable (but not really for regular people unless you’re leveraging already acquired equity) housing options having very high rates (eg trumbull) while insanely expensive areas having shockingly low rates.
