Conflicted about talking/dating other people while going through the divorce process.

I know most people say dont date until your divorce is official and you take time to "heal" but i feel like thats a blanket statement. What are your thoughts? I feel like that statement is more to warn new partners to avoid people in or just over a divorce rather than the divorcee themselves.
