Forced drug withdrawal through kidnapping

I was talking to a friend who said that some parents will kidnap their own kids off of places like skid row and then drive them home and force them to withdraw in a locked room. This sounds more like Hollywood movie stuff I’m sure but just curious if anyone has any actual story they know of like this.
