Been binge watching all of AVGN episodes, here's my honest take on it

You know what? I know the quality of the show has dropped over the years because James is getting older, he has other responsibilities, Mike isn't writing anything anymore, and to be fair, if you watch every episode of Nerd from beginning to end, almost nothing has changed.

From the early days of nostalgic NES reviews with low-budget sketches and improvised sets to the Screenwave Media years, I'm glad James has stepped away from the Nerd role a bit. Let's face it, it's been 22 years, he can't be a solo artist, and I know his other projects, like Rex Viper, kinda suck, but he's doing what he loves.

Regarding the videos, he still manages to do some good reviews. It's true, the old videos like Atari Jaguar, Double Vision, Nintendo Power, and even Rob the Robot are masterpieces, and he's done some pretty bad videos recently (seriously, what the heck was that horse game review??). BUT the show is still very watchable and manages to entertain me while I work or do housework, and despite the drop in quality (which in reality isn't nearly the huge drop you guys made it seem like), it's still my comfort show. Even with the sketches with the Screenwave Media team and the analyses where James clearly never played the game before and is just following a script, I still enjoyed watching all 18 seasons of The Fucking Nerd.

ANYWAY, James continues to be a great inspiration for my own review content, and I'm somewhat saddened to see that there are still people bitter about the fact that he's a father and has other responsibilities in life, yet he still tries to keep the character alive. I just hope he stops someday so that it can finally have a proper ending.
