Urgent: Haryana Medical Council flags BSMI (Bukhara State Medical Institute) as non-compliant. What are our options now?
Hi everyone,
An official public notice was just issued by the Haryana Medical Council dated June 9, 2026, explicitly listing Bukhara State Medical Institute (BSMI), Uzbekistan as non-compliant with the NMC’s Foreign Medical Graduate Licentiate (FMGL) Regulations, 2021.
The notice states that students face non-recognition of their qualifications in India and disqualification from appearing in licensing exams.
Many of us were sent here by Indian agencies who swore everything was completely NMC-compliant, and now we are stuck facing massive academic and financial risk.
For seniors, grads, or anyone familiar with NMC/State Council legalities:
- What immediate steps should a currently enrolled student take when an institution's eligibility is compromised like this?
- Is transferring to another compliant medical university in Uzbekistan or another country a viable option under current FMGL rules?
- Can we take collective legal action against the recruitment agencies in India who fraudulently misrepresented the university's compliance status to our parents?
Any guidance on how to navigate this crisis or safeguard our medical careers would be greatly appreciated.
