Where to buy in Sydney for 1.5m FHB (Duplexes)

Currently looking to buy within 6 months and looking at which suburb I can realistically afford. Panania, Revesby and sometimes Padstow has some really nice duplexes for that price range but it is near Bankstown. Does anyone know the general growth trend for these suburbs (is it around market average)?

The pros I see are express trains to the city in around 25mintues but the main con is being in the vicinity of Bankstown and its demograhics.

Does anyone have any other suggestions?
