How do I get started on building a career in Digital Marketing and Copywriting in SA?

I'm currently working a thankless, massively underpaid job as a medical administrator, but I have always wanted to be a copywriter.

I hold a BA degree in languages from a well-known university. I would really appreciate any practical tips from real-life South Africans in the digital marketing and copywriting space on how I could get started based on my current situation. I don't have any money for paid certifications as I'm basically living hand-to-mouth on my current pay.

I'm not afraid of some hard work, I just need some help getting started as I don't want to waste my time doing things that won't count in the industry with potential employers.
