In what ways, if any, do you think it's acceptable for a white person to interact with the n-word?
I'm not asking whether white people should casually use the word. I'm more interested in where people draw the line, if they draw one at all.
For example: Is it okay to sing along to a song that contains the word? Is it okay to listen to music that contains it? Is it okay to write it in a historical or academic report when discussing the word itself? Is it okay to laugh at a meme or tweet that includes it?
Waht do you personally consider acceptable, and what do you consider inappropriate?
IMO, the ideal solution would be to ignore the word entirely, but that doesn't feel realistic given how present it is in music, media, history, and online culture.
