add more stock vs letting sell out and renew

hi! opened up an etsy shop about a month ago. i make needlepoint canvases, i have some stock but also i make some to order. i usually have the stock on my etsy shop starting at 5 (just an amount i could do max to order and ship in time) does it make a difference to let the listing sell out and then renew it with more stock or add more stock before it sells out and is low?
