Am I the only one confused by Ragatha's role in the Ribbit/Jax backstory?

Am I the only one who's kinda confused by the Ribbit/Jax backstory?

Like, don't get me wrong, I actually think the idea itself is pretty good. Jax pushing Ribbit away because he cares about her, is terrified of getting attached, and ends up making everything worse is honestly one of the more interesting things they've done with his character.

But there's one thing I can't stop thinking about:

Where the hell was Ragatha?

Seriously.

The story seems to imply Jax managed to isolate Ribbit and push her away from everyone until she was basically alone. And I'm sitting here thinking... with Ragatha around?

My girl literally cannot go five minutes without worrying about somebody.

This is the same character who spends half the show checking on people's feelings, trying to keep everyone together, and acting like the Circus's unpaid therapist.

So Jax says "don't talk to Ribbit" and Ragatha just goes:

"Understandable, have a nice day."

???

I don't buy it.

And to be clear, I'm not saying Ragatha would have magically saved Ribbit. Sometimes people try their best and still fail. Tragedies happen. That's not my issue.

My issue is that the story doesn't really show what Ragatha's role in any of this was.

Did she try to help and fail?

Did she not realize how bad things were?

Was Jax actually a lot friendlier back then and people trusted him?

Was Ragatha herself different back then?

Because all of those explanations could work.

The problem is that right now I feel like I'm having to invent those explanations myself.

What's funny is that this also kind of changes how I look at Ragatha's concerns about Pomni getting close to Jax.

Originally I thought that was mostly insecurity. Fear of being replaced. Maybe some jealousy. Ragatha being Ragatha.

But now?

If she knows what happened with Ribbit, then maybe she's not entirely wrong.

Maybe she's sitting there watching Pomni become friends with Jax thinking:

"Yeah I've seen this movie before and the ending sucks."

Which honestly makes her concern feel way more justified than it did before.

And that's where I think my actual criticism is.

I don't think this is a plot hole.

I don't even think Ragatha is necessarily out of character.

I think the problem is that Ribbit's tragedy is being treated almost entirely as a Jax story.

But realistically it should also be a Ragatha story.

And a Kaufmo story.

And honestly a whole-group story.

Instead it feels like everything is orbiting around Jax's emotional development, which is making me wonder if the show is becoming a little too Jax-focused.

Because if Ribbit was really struggling that badly, I have a hard time believing Ragatha wouldn't at least have tried to do something. Even if she completely failed.

Maybe future episodes explain it. Maybe there's context we're missing.

But right now I feel less like "Ragatha was out of character" and more like "the story skipped over the part where Ragatha should have been involved."

Am I crazy here or does anyone else feel this way?
