Create Wellness raised $20M and hired a Peloton star to convince you creatine is a brain supplement, not a gym thing
Create Wellness, maker of the leading creatine gummy, is putting its fresh $20M Series B (led by Alliance Consumer Growth, with Mike Repole's Impact Capital and existing backer Unilever Ventures) behind a national campaign fronted by ex-Peloton instructor Kendall Toole. The whole pitch is repositioning: creatine for cognition, recovery, energy and mood, not just bodybuilding. It's launching alongside a new Creatine + Electrolytes format (5g creatine, electrolytes, taurine).
This is a textbook category-expansion play, and it's worth watching because of who's behind it. Repole (vitaminwater, BODYARMOR) has built a career turning niche-functional into mainstream-mass, and that's exactly the move here: take creatine, the most-researched and most-mainstream-ready ingredient in supplements right now, and de-gym-bro it for the general wellness shopper (notably women, who the bodybuilding framing has historically left out). Pair that with a relatable fitness-creator face and a gummy/electrolyte format that lowers the barrier, and you've got a real shot at mainstreaming. The risk is that "creatine for your brain" is running ahead of where most consumers' understanding is, and education-led categories are expensive and slow.
For the operators and brand folks: is creatine genuinely the next mainstream wellness staple (the new collagen/magnesium), or is the science-forward positioning getting ahead of consumer demand? And does a creator like Toole move the needle on a supplement, or just on awareness?
