Will this hurt my Brezza 1.5 NA manual in long time?

I live in himachal and my trips are less than 500m everyday... i heard it damages the battery and engine when u do such short trips only... dont really do long trips because my father doesnt allow it and he walks everywhere despite us having a car.... so does this really hurts the engine and battery at a considerable level?
