International students

Hey everyone,

I’ve been thinking about starting a community for international students in Australia, mainly focused on helping each other find jobs, internships, part-time work, and career opportunities.

A lot of international students struggle with the same things: finding their first job, not knowing where to apply, not understanding how Australian resumes should look, not having referrals, getting rejected because of lack of local experience, or simply not knowing who to ask for help.

The idea is to create a space where students can support each other by sharing job openings, resume tips, interview experiences, employer recommendations, visa/work-hour information, networking opportunities, and general advice from people who have already gone through the process.

I’m also thinking it could include things like:
•Job leads for students
•Resume and cover letter feedback
•Interview preparation
•Referral/networking support
•Advice from students who already found jobs
•Guidance for new international students
•Industry-specific groups, like IT, business, healthcare, hospitality, etc.

The goal is not to create another random group chat, but a useful community where people genuinely help each other grow and find opportunities.

Would international students in Australia find this helpful? And what platform would be best for this Discord, WhatsApp, Telegram or something else?

Also, what are the biggest job-related struggles international students are facing right now in Australia?
