My dear good people of reddit!

I moved to Bangalore 7 years ago after finishing my CA.
The fintech job paid the bills but never quite filled the soul. So I started picking up hobbies and showing up at community events. Seven years later, I have 7 active hobbies, a much better understanding of who I am, and a deep view into how this city's community scene actually works.

I love Community space and it feels like a second home to me.
What was disappointing was the user journey in discovery.

No platforms were committed to Community building but were very interested to monetize the community events and made this space transactional.

This is the biggest reason - Why communities still operate through WhatsApp groups and google forms with 2014 looks.

On top of it event platforms including the new age platforms looks absolutely boring. Black, white or a solid color. I could not scroll them enough as there's nothing apart from events. No community angle, no connections, no vibes.

So I did the unreasonable thing and built **HobbyMate.** colorful, alive, and built for communities instead of just events. This is not a startup experiment but a passionately driven purpose.

You can find or start a hobby group, find hobby mentors, and even buy/sell hobby gear, because we all have equipment from an abandoned hobby phase staring at us with judgment. And of course build your community or find one.

I'm not here to sell you anything. I'm here because Reddit will keep me honest, and we need that.

So tell me:

* What's your most painful hobby-community experience in this city?
* And what abandoned hobby equipment is currently collecting dust in your house? (Safe space. The judgment-free zone starts now.)
* Do you like our website [Hobbymate.in](http://Hobbymate.in) and what sucks the most on this site and our app?
* Would you be interested to review my app and share honest feedbacks?

Coming from a core finance background, it has been a very interesting experience for me to build a tech product. I am here to learn from the good people of reddit. I am all sport - to be roasted, to be challenged or to receive love from you all :)

After 7 years of hobby groups in Bangalore, I snapped and built my own app. Send help (and feedback).
