Model X 2017 Passenger Door Wont Open- Tesla is Recommending a Body Shop!

Hey everyone,

I have a 2017 Model X 75D with about 95K miles, and the front passenger door will not open.

When I try to open it using the exterior handle, it makes all the normal sounds like it is trying to open, but the door does not pop open and remains stuck. The same thing happens when I try opening it from the touchscreen.

On two separate mornings, I pressed the door handle and the door actually opened. But once I started the car, the problem came back and the door would not open again.

I took it to Tesla, and after three days they said they were unable to get the door open. They are now recommending that I take it to a body shop.

I am located in Burbank, CA.

Has anyone experienced this issue before, or does anyone have suggestions on what I should try next?
