Has anyone else noticed how different Cape Verde feels compared to other West African countries?
I’ve recently been looking into Sal, Cape Verde, and one thing that stood out to me was how strong the Portuguese influence seems to be.
Compared to other countries in the region, the language, architecture, culture and even some of the tourists seem to give it a very different feel. There also appears to be a significant number of Portuguese visitors and residents compared to what you’d typically expect elsewhere in West Africa.
For those who’ve travelled around both Cape Verde and other parts of West Africa, did it feel noticeably different to you? If so, what stood out the most?
