Specific vampire scene

Hello friends,

In elementary school (sometime between 1998-2002) a friend let me borrow a book that had a specific kinda disturbing vampire adjacent scene. The book was not meant for our age range, I believe she had an older sibling she got it from.

The book might have had short stories in it. Here’s how I remember the part that affected me: The scene was a young boy who I think met a vampire. He eventually is swayed by the vampire to pierce his own throat/jugular with the metal tab of a soda can and bleeds profusely while kinda going crazy. Does this ring any bells for anyone? I’ve searched the internet with as many shitty Google phrases I could think of!
