Random gunfire opened by one of the security personnel on the house of the Governor of Aden city in Yemen resulted in the death and injury of a number of people.

Among the dead were two Syrian doctors.

The two killed doctors are: Colonel Dr. Samer Hassan and his wife Colonel Dr. Samahar Al-Mousa.

Samer Hassan held the position of head of the Nephrology Department at Tishreen Military Hospital in Damascus.

His wife was the head of the Rheumatology and Arthritis Department at the same hospital.

Both are graduates of Russian universities.

The two doctors remained at their work in Tishreen Hospital until the fall of the Assad regime on 8/12/2024, after which they traveled to Yemen.

Previously, some people accused Dr. Samer of extorting the families of detainees, and that he took 15 thousand dollars from one family in order to allow them to see a detainee at Tishreen Hospital. However, after he collected the money, he did nothing and they did not see the detainee. When they contacted the doctor, he threatened them he'd arrest them and put them in the regime's security branches.

Just like the overwhelming majority of the personnel at the hospital and Assadist security apparatus in Syrian they belonged to the Nusayri (aka Alawite) community. But recent pictures of the female doctor hijab were taken in the conservative Yemeni city of Aden which probably was wore to hide her identity.
