Possibly looking for an advisor

I'm 51 and my wife is 44. We are thinking it is getting close to time to maybe talk to a fee based financial planner. The issue I'm seeing is most of them I've found online close to me, want a certain amount of investable assets to give to them. All of our assets are held in pensions and 401k accounts with current employers. We're just trying to find out if we're on track and can possibly cut back on how much we're saving.
