**Paramount is expanding its entertainment footprint with the launch of Paramount Games Studio, a new division dedicated to turning the company's biggest franchises into video games.**

The studio’s first official project is an adaptation of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin. Paramount is partnering with PlatinumGames—the developer known for the Bayonetta series—to create the title. A brief teaser trailer shown at Summer Game Fest offered a glimpse of a dark, futuristic New York City, though few gameplay details were shared.

While TMNT is leading the initial lineup alongside core brands like Star Trek, Avatar: The Last Airbender, and SpongeBob SquarePants, Paramount has broader plans. In an interview with Polygon, Shawn Kittelsen, the studio's head of creative and production, confirmed that Taylor Sheridan’s television franchises are major priorities for future game adaptations. This includes Paramount's massive hit Yellowstone, its spin-offs, and related series like Landman, Tulsa King, and Lioness.

Kittelsen emphasized that the company intends to be highly selective with its development partners, aiming to avoid the common pitfalls of cheap corporate licensing.

>"We are not brand managers, and we are not IP value extractors," Kittelsen said. "We are cultural stewards... If we start willy-nilly licensing everything that we can just to check boxes and fill the coffers, people will get wise to it."

The studio plans to focus on quality over quantity, matching specific developers to franchises that fit their strengths. According to Kittelsen, the goal is to choose partners who have already established a track record of creating classic games, ensuring the final products resonate directly with the existing fanbases.
