Chances of finding a profile while on a student visa (US)

Hello all!
I am a PhD student (26F) abroad (US) have been in the process for about 6 months now. I am curious to know how men view prospects getting a PhD. I earn peanuts at the moment and won’t be earning well for another 3-4 years and can’t move as well. There is also a risk of not having an H1B visa which may cause an issue in the future. I understand that puts me at a bit of a disadvantage but just still curious to know where I stand.

It makes me a bit nervous when I talk to people. I have been pretty upfront about my situation and am open to some compromises when it comes to long distance for a couple of years, etc.
