Assistant Professor application still shows “Received Submission”

I applied for an Assistant Professor position in April. My application status still shows “Received Submission” and has not changed since then. The position is for Fall 2026, and I have not been contacted for an interview yet.

In your experience with academic hiring, does this usually mean I’m no longer being considered, or is it still possible to receive an interview invitation at this stage?

Thank you for sharing your experiences.
