ELI5 : Trillionaire...but how?

Looking at Tesla’s P&L report, they’ve averaged $14 mm in revenue (EBITDA) over the past 5 years.  Space X, average 3 year EBITDA is only $2.5mm. So how exactly is he a trillionaire? Heck, how exactly did he become a billionaire?  Is it the inner Industrialist in me that thinks a person worth that much should have revenue in the billions of dollars?  In other words, is his wealth all generated off of Wall Street hype? Or am I missing something fairly obvious. Granted I'm a bit dumb/handsome 😞
