spriters i need yall's help

i just bought aseprite because i figured it would have more capabilities to help with terrarias weird 2x2 pixels but it does nawt. I have tried pixel perfect, i have tried a 2x2 grid, it does not work. What approach do yall take, do i genuinely need to just place each pixel manually and clean it up later? am i not allowed to paint like usual?
