Pen on Amtrack

I saw a post about this a year ago and I was wondering if can I bring a cart from Union Station, Pittsburgh to Penn Station NYC. If so is there a type I should bring or avoid bringing? I also have a return flight from JFK but i'll ditch it if i have to.
