Taxpayer assistance appointment

When darling senile mom was alive
We would chip away at her overdue taxes monthly
Using the direct pay website

Now that darling mom is dead
The direct pay website says cannot verify identity and therefore we no longer can make payments toward her back taxes

So I’ve been calling for an appt with the taxpayer assistance center for the last three weeks at all hours of the day, including early in the morning

The recording indicates they are experiencing exceptionally high volume and then just hangs up

Today I took off work early to go find a human

And he was rather hopeful that if I just call continuously (forever and a day) that maybe I’ll get through

As he could offer me zero assistance in person in securing an appointment

Has anyone ever called for an appointment with the taxpayer assistance center and successfully secured an appointment? How long did it take you?
