Questions about seperation Anxiety

Hello, I'm planning to buy a pet toy poodle; however, I am incredibly concerned about their separation anxiety, as nobody is in the house for 8 hours specifically on Thursdays. Any idea how we can help the dog stay by itself for 8 hours? Also, as a side question, can we use cat litter boxes for toy poodles to train them to go potty there?
