EB2-NIW lawyer choice

General

My profile is non-academic: PhD in Economics, currently working as a quantitative analyst/economist in housing finance/credit risk. My proposed endeavor would focus on U.S. housing affordability, mortgage access, and credit-risk/market analytics. I don’t have a publication/citation-heavy profile, but I have industry research experience, media-cited work from previous job. My stem-opt expires July 2027.

I’m deciding between two firms:

Getson & Schatz
Fee: ~$6,000. More established, positive reviews, responsive, seemed knowledgeable but he highlighted the importance of getting strong support letters from the industry and ideally from a federal agency.

Whitaker Warburton
Fee: ~$10,000. Former USCIS experience, seemed to understand how officers evaluate NIW cases and how to frame the petition. But the firm is newer, and I’m not sure how much filing experience they have as private attorneys. I also saw some comments about them being busy/slower.

For a non-academic EB2-NIW case, would you value the more established/lower-cost lawyer or the newer but former-USCIS firm? Any thoughts?
