because you guys were super nice to me and I appreciated all the nice comments so I might as well share some hcs I have about them!

\-Before d3r became selene’s royal guard/before the events of sfawtde in general he used to be a mercenary/hired asassin for other kingdoms in exchange for money (he’s never stuck around in one place cause he wasnt trusted in fear of him fighting of an enemy kingdom and betraying them, and likewise, he’s never sworn full allegiance to them either.)

\-I hc derek as half black and desi/indian american). Selene's associated with/is based on a swan, and I think its really fitting that derek would fall in love with her because in hindu mythology, swans are considered sacred/divine, likewise Selene falling in love with Derek whos supposed to be a crow is also very fitting because crows are sometimes associated with the sun in asian mythology (including Korea, which she is) and she sees Derek as her sun (As you can see I really like mythologies from different cultures and I like using them as reference here)

\-Avery does exist in my au, after Selene runs away from her kingdom to find Derek she settles in a village and meets Avery whos also looking for him, and he promises to bring him back but fails (because of dawtde) but I do believe that they find him somewhere and they go on a journey where they’re finally able to reunite, i want to give them a happy ending :((

\-Selene's actual name is Claire Eunwol Kim (she's korean american)

\-Claire is named after a friend who introduced me to mc a long time ago and I didnt have any meaning beside that, but her name could also mean Clair De Lune (French for moonlight and the name of a famous piano piece), while her Korean name means “silver moonlight” in hanja, all 3 of her names represent the moon, while derek is her sun

\-I like to think Claire made the username of “xxprincesselene” when she was 10 and she had selene as some gacha cat hybrid oc because she grew up watching channels like ldshadowlady and aphmau and it just stuck, Derek also made his username when he was 13 and had an emo phase or smth, in Minecraft theres all this crazy lore when outside of it its just two weird kids roleplaying with their silly minecraft ocs

spreading the goddessknight propaganda with some hcs I have of them (aka my yumeship with d3r)
