Story time: not for the weak of heart
In light of yesterday’s storms:
Story time. August 2018 storms rip through the area. A wire goes down in my brother’s neighborhood, dead end rural street. Live wire. Between houses. Right next to the road. The police come, the firefighters come, the police leave, after an hour the firefighters leave. My brother walks down the street to see what happened. No barricades, no police or firefighters, nothing. My brother goes close to see if he can hear the electric hum. No way the officers would just leave. The wire was in the yard of a house full of children. The electricity arcs and grabs my brother. He laid their smoking for 4 hours before they shut off the electricity. Yeah, lucky it was him, an out of work addict, instead of a kid. There is a lawsuit. When storms damage the grid widespread, there is little coordination between safety officers and the electric company.
