Hi! Long term reader of this thread, first time posting so pls be nice!

Route was great, I was calm and not anxious. I got 3 minors (I’m ok with this as weather was a foggy rain storm so I was a bit more cautious near the end). We passed 4 car parks on the way back to the test centre yet I was told to drive back to the test centre for my manoeuvre which has the smallest carpark I’ve ever seen.

I counted my normal 3 spaces ahead for the reverse park that I’ve been taught (which is my favourite manoeuvre and always goes well - I also did 4 before on the lesson). one learner decided to park bang in the middle of the 5 bays so I felt like I didn’t have choice but to go next to them as the furthest away parking space was a disabled one right next to the door to the office so as I turned I saw I was a bit close to the car and I stopped, my break was fully down.

I said “ah I’m a bit close I will fix this” and went to drive FOREWARD from reverse to restart (I know normally you can do this in manoeuvres) but he raised his hand and said no, your too close I have to stop you?! He asked me to drive forward as a car had just left a gap from the other side - which I did perfectly - Then ofc told me I failed. I’m honestly dead miffed. 3 minors and right at the end that happens and I didn’t feel like I could correct/restart it?

The rules honestly feel archaic I’m not angry at him I’m angry at the system. How is it a serious fault/minor when I did not touch the car and the break was already down and he didn’t intervene? Friends have got a serious for things that are actually dangerous, but I stopped, broke and saw my error and wanted to fix it? It doesn’t even say he intervened. The next test dates are like Oct/nov in my city and continuing to learn/pay when I’ve already done 60 hours stings icl.

I don’t see any point in officially complaining bc it doesn’t change the test outcome and you still have to wait months for a retest, plus the cctv at the test centre won’t have audio to hear what I say only what I do and I worry I’ll be tested more harshly next time if I did -.- I just need some motivation tbh 😭 tysm!

Failed my test 😔
