What was life like in Iceland from the 15th to the 18th century?

It's easy enough to see how life was like in Iceland during the 9th-13th centuries through the copious amounts of contemporaneous sagas that exist, but past that I'm not really sure. Did people continue to live as before? Were there attempts to bring new inventions and changes to the island? What happened?
