Is God personal?

Personal as in interactive? Opposite of impersonal?

I got sucked into non denominationalism since I was 16, the testimonies I heard, and well the things Ive seen where a witness to the things they preached.

It's just I read the words of scripture and I see so many things that don't manifest in this world. And even if it wasn't God's will for those to come to fruition, I'd still like a relationship that didn't feel so one sided. Someone I could talk to face to face, but I just have His words to guide me, it's just that sometimes I would like advice that is specific and more personal as sometimes scripture can be interpreted in a plethora of ways leaving me as James said; "*tossed to and fro with every wind of doctrine.*"
