Question about hair dye?

Hi! Can anyone give me some suggestions on some at home hair dye that won’t damage your hair. My mom wants to start dying her own hair as whenever she goes and gets it done it’s like black and she doesn’t like that. She has dark brown hair and just likes to keep the grey away. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!
