WFH FIFA
After what feels like forever, I am working from home today (due to FIFA) and it’s been a breath of fresh air.
I’ve been the most productive I’ve ever been since RTO5. During my “commute time”, I made breakfast, had coffee, went for a walk around the block and logged on at 8:30am, ready to get sh*t done.
Didn’t take my “15 mins” break and worked until lunch. Stepped away from my laptop, made some pasta, and then ate my freshly cooked meal while I worked. No water cooler conversations. Only necessary teams chats with some fun banter.
It was very reminiscent of the COVID days, but without all the fear and mandated social distancing.
Now that we’re in office, there’s an expectation to collaborate and socialize with our peers, and to meet deadlines. Except the majority of it is just socializing… whether it’s casual chats with colleagues or all the unnecessary meetings with the goal to connect with one another. Half of these meetings could have just been an email!!!!
IMO, social distancing kept us productive with work, and intentionally engaged with our peers.
