Melanie is exactly who she portrays herself to be on the show

Have been very hesitant sharing this info but seeing people defend Melanie and her behavior is super upsetting. Mel and I have known each other for about 10 years and met through mutual friends. Seeing so many defend her and her behavior is honestly astonishing to me.
Unfortunately, she is exactly like this in real life and has been for as long as I've known her.

One of our friends was in a long-term relationship (around 4 years), and Melanie was a big reason that relationship ended. The way she's acting on Love Island isn't surprising at all. She has always been extremely male centered and has consistently chosen men over women, including her own friends.

While our friend was in that relationship, Melanie would send her boyfriend pictures of herself asking if she looked good, if her outfits were cute, and constantly seeking his attention. Then when we all went on a trip together, Melanie and that same guy ended up making out and doing pretty much everything except actually sleeping together.

She's also always come across as a very jealous person who seems to view other women as competition. I've seen her constantly try to one up other women rather than support them. Because of that, she's never really been able to maintain long term female friendships. There always seems to be drama, jealousy, or some issue that eventually causes the friendship to fall apart which is a shame.

This behavior Mel is presenting on the show is nothing new. This is exactly the type of behavior l've seen from her for years. She has repeatedly chosen male attention over her friendships and the behavior she's displaying now is unfortunately completely in line with the person I've known for the last decade :/
