SPayLater reinstated after 1.5 years of being frozen

Just wanted to share this in case anyone else is in the same situation.

Back in January 2025, my SPayLater account was frozen after I paid 1 day late. Completely my fault, I was traveling and missed the due date. I settled the payment the next day, but the account was already "frozen".

Eventually, I stopped expecting anything and just used my credit cards instead. Still, sayang din yung SPayLater promos and discounts.

For context, I've been using SeaBank regularly and have had around ₱80k sitting there since February while building my emergency fund. I also linked my Shopee account to my SeaBank account and use it often for bills and other transactions.

Then this June 2026, while checking my SeaBank account, I noticed the "Frozen" status on the linked SPayLater account was gone.

I immediately checked Shopee and sure enough, the account had been reinstated.

The credit limit didn't come back at ₱50k, it restarted at ₱5k, but honestly that's fine. At least it's usable again, and I assume the limit can increase over time with regular use.

Not sure if the SeaBank connection had anything to do with it or if it was simply because enough time had passed. Just sharing this for anyone whose SPayLater got frozen due to a one-time oversight. It might not be permanent after all.
