I'm getting a bearded dragon in a couple of days, and I just finished setting up his enclosure. He's 1.5 years old, but his current owner has been neglecting him, so he's pretty small for his age due to malnutrition and no UVB. Allegedly, there are no signs of MBD, but we'll see. I have experience rehabilitating leopard geckos with severe MBD, but this guy will be my first beardie.

Here are the specs of his enclosure:

\-4x2x2 front opening tank

\-10.0 t8 18" UVB bulb w/ ZooMed fixture, plugged into thermostat

\-75 watt halogen bulb w/ hood. I have a 100 watt in case 75 isn't enough, but my apartment runs hot. This will be on a dimmer

\-Substrate is 40/40/20 top soil, play sand, and excavator clay. I tried to make it have varying depths so he can dig around.

\-I've heard the hammocks can be dangerous and catch claws, but I also see very experienced owners use them. What's the verdict? Hammocks are on the colder side; obviously, they'd be too close to the bulbs if not.

\-One dish is for salad, the other dish is for water. Not in there yet, since it'll be a few days until the tank is occupied.

\-I have some plants I could add as clutter, but I'm not sure if he might eat them? Idk, they look like salad, so I could see confusion happening.

\-I'm about 99% sure he can fit into that log hide; if not, I'll swap it out.

\-The backdrop came with the tank on Facebook Marketplace. I'm not the biggest fan and plan to find something more fun

Don't hold back! I want to give this guy a fresh start after his rough upbringing.
