The YCSO's Case Files

Case Files

For those researching the Yuba County Five case who would like to examine the original 1978 case files, here are links to bulk-download the files in five compressed ZIP folders:

https://www.mediafire.com/file/pfljflkni5q6oui/Case+Files+-+Part+1.zip/file

https://www.mediafire.com/file/mp2rrlqi7v2cxa4/Case+Files+-+Part+2.zip/file

https://www.mediafire.com/file/f2mizbm5wa7sikg/Case+Files+-+Part+3.zip/file

https://www.mediafire.com/file/vney4gvsqzvboux/Case+Files+-+Part+4.zip/file

https://www.mediafire.com/file/5f4q8acpoejuch9/Case+Files+-+Part+5.zip/file

The above links are safe. I downloaded the files myself two years ago, organized them into compressed ZIP folders, and uploaded them for easier access.

I would recommend using Brave Browser or an ad blocker when downloading from MediaFire, as the free hosting service displays a number of advertisements. The files themselves are safe, but the case files within the ZIP folders are not organized in any particular order.

You can also view and download the files directly from the Yuba County Sheriff's Office records portal:

https://yubacountyca.nextrequest.com/documents

Please note that not every document on NextRequest pertains to the Yuba County Five case. Additionally, files must be downloaded individually, which can make the process time-consuming.

For contemporary newspaper coverage of the case, the Yuba County official website also provides free access to historical newspaper archives:

https://www.yuba.gov/departments/library/historical_resources.php

To access the newspapers, click "Digital Reel" and then select "Newspapers." You can search for names, locations, and other terms related to the case.

I have shared many of these links in comments and previous posts over the years, but I thought it would be useful to have the primary research resources collected in one place for anyone interested in studying the case!
