Is ark still popular?

I'm a long time ark player. Last I played was ASA. Hopped on the other day on console (I have a PC as well) and the servers were dead as far as unofficial like EliteArk. This is still one of my all time favorite games. Just curious, is it still popular? If so, ASA OR ASE? I assume PC is the move.
