new gen ring motion sensors can only be paired to rings zwave base station?

I bought the newest gen of ring motion sensor because it listed zwave connectivity. The problem is it seems it can only connect to ring's own zwave base stations. The QR printed on the device and manual lead to a ring.com link that opens the ring app.

I have a zwa-2 and I can't find any way to get the code to pair it. I did pair it to the ring app hoping to find a code that way but no luck. It's surprising to me because I thought there were standard with zwave that meant you could use any product with any base station.

Does anyone have have one of these and managed to connect it to their own zwave system?
