Riser part broke off

I was trying to configure my 5070 ti into the riser cable, but then I realized the be quiet dark rock elite was blocking the cable connecting to the PSU. So when I tried to remove the GPU to see if I could adjust the riser, the tail end clip broke off and now I feel dumb since I felt like I could have removed the cpu fan first, but idk if was just because of the riser itself since this was enough space for it to move out, but it just felt really hard to remove the gpu out of the riser.

So basically I need to know if that end piece is still needed to make the GPU work properly, and if the 5070 ti ASUS Tuf can even fit with the be quiet dark rock elite because Im not sure if I can even adjust it horizontally in respect to the mobo and moving it up is just for the ram clearance.

I feel so lost.
